Daniel Freeman (AKA Boss man)
My name is Dan and I am originally from England but have been living in Australia since August 2013. I moved to Port Stephens in 2018 and feel very much at home. I acknowledge and pay my respects to the traditional custodians of this land that I am blessed to now call home, the Worimi people. However, I understand that sovereignty was never sought and that reconciliation is a verb which lives in the actions that we take every day. Salamander Early Education is a place where everyone is welcome and we take our role in creating a more understanding, accepting and just society extremely seriously.
I live with my incredible wife, Ange, and our beautiful daughter, Pearl. We also have 2 dogs (Dachshunds) so it is a very busy household! You will often see us walking around the Marina on the weekends getting coffee and delicious baked goods!
I have been working in the Early Childhood sector since 2009. I started my career in Education working in Primary Schools back in the UK and since moving to Australia I have worked in a variety of roles relating to Early Childhood. I am a teacher by trade but have worked as an Area Manager, Integration Manager and Learning Partner for a large company prior to joining Salamander Early Education.
I absolutely love what I do and I strive to create environments where all children and educators can flourish. I am a passionate advocate for children and their rights and I always put the needs of our children first.
