Veronica Burgess (AKA The Advocate)

​Hi, I'm Ronnie, I live in Corlette with my husband, Mark, and 3 children, Gilby 12, Lacey 10 and Sunny 4. 

I grew up in Singleton in the Hunter Valley, after a couple of years travelling overseas I returned home and settled in Branxton. When Lacey was 3 we decided to make a sea change which bought our family to Port Stephens where we are now living the dream!

In my spare time I love hanging out with my friends and family, family movie nights and lazy days at the beach.

I enrolled in the Cert lll in Early Childhood Education and Care because at the time I needed an income. After having 3 children I never thought that this would be my path and my passion. On day one I learnt how important the first five years are and that Early Childhood Education and Care is as much about teaching our children as it is caring for them. From that first day, this was not about having a job and making money for me anymore, it is about the children.................you're children and I love it.

I have been fortunate enough to be a part of the SCCC team since my work placement during my Cert lll in Early Childhood Education and Care in 2018. I am now studying my Diploma through SCCC and TAFE.
